Obituary of Philip Walter Lane
Philip was a loving husband, father. grandfather and recently great grand father. He visited with his child and grandchildren as often as possible, could never remember all the names and birthdays. He never met anyone he couldn't talk to. Philip enjoyed reading and movie going but it had to be history, biographies or true life. He never went anywhere without a book or two. His favorite things to watch on tv was sports and news and more sports and news
He was a shopper whether for groceries or clothing and could wander around Walmart or Costco for hours. He could never understand the difference between cheap and thrifty. He had a quick, lively energetic step and like the Energizer Bunny never seem to run out of energy. Philip had a unique sounding voice and laugh that was easily recognized and not easily forgotten.
He could be very kind and generous with family but was not a great tipper. Philip was a charming and cheerful man who loved to laugh and thoroughly enjoyed his own jokes. As a teenage he was an aspiring baseball player and actually went to a baseball summer camp. He was a 10 year Navy Veteran where he started his culinary career. He was a professional cook and baker. His could cook anything but specialized in comfort foods and pies.
He will be greatly missed by all.
