Obituary of Sammy Aaron Thornton

Sammy Aaron Thornton of Southlake went home to be with the Lord on August 15th.

Sammy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Sammy was a Minister, self-made Entrepreneur, and auto enthusiast. He co-founded Thornton Trucking Company and later became a luxury custom homebuilder and founder of Thornton Custom Homes. He was the Pastor of The Move of God Church in Oak Cliff for many years, and was Co-founder and CEO of KLDT-TV 55, and CMTV (Christian Music Television). Other companies he founded include Aaron Communications and Voyaquest. In 2005 he completed the Mille Miglia in Italy with racing legend Stirling Moss and was active in the McLaren-Mercedes SLR Club. He was full of the love of Christ and was a larger than life personality who made a friend of all he met.

He was the world’s greatest Santa Claus and devoted to his wife of over 57 years, Patsy, his children Cynthia, Katrina, and Charles and grandchildren Federico, Madeline, Alexander, Abigail, Caroline, Isabella, and Charlotte. 

Services will be held on Saturday, the 19th of August, at 10:30 a.m. at Fellowship United Methodist Church, 101 Trophy Club Dr, Trophy Club, TX 76262.
