So sorry to hear of the passing of Tim. We were good friends at Hahn AB Germany and had many fun filled hours in the Base Racquetball Courts. He was one huge competitor. Also my doubles partner in on of the Base Tournaments. He was a outstanding man and wish I would have tried to contact him earlier. To his wife and family I know you still miss him. Thoughts and prayers for family and friends.

Dear Barbara,
a few days ago, my father went into hospital, because of his demencia, This was the first time for years, that I had a litlle time of my own. One of the first things I did, was to look in the world wide web, if there are news about you and your family. I was deeply shocked to find out, that Tim passed away. Also my mother could not believe it. The wonderful moments we spent together are so present in our memories. We'll miss Tim so much. Our hope is, to meet you, Laura, Jennifer and Timothy Jr. one time in the future.
With love
Anja and Christa Buser
P.S. Please let us know, if you are in Germany again (buseranja@aol.com).

I just wanted to extend my belated condolences to the family and friends and also say that I was very lucky to have seen Mr. Roels perform with the final F-4E Team of the Thunderbirds back in 1973 when the Team visited Wilmington, North Carolina during the Azalea Festival Airshow in April of that year. I will never forget the thrill of when my late father (who was also a USAF Veteran & incidentally passed in 2017) drove us to the airport and I saw those beautiful and mighty Red White and Blue F-4E's sitting on the ramp line abreast. To this day, that was still the very best airshow performance I have ever seen, one which I shall never forget as well as meeting each Team member.
God Speed and Good Tailwinds Sir.

I just heard today that he had passed away. Tim Roels was instrumental in helping me get to the USAF Academy, Class of 1985. I later flew F-15's in the 7th TFS which Mr Roels had done in the F-4 many years previously. I'll never forget when he come up to me at my Academy graduation and congratulated me. He was a great man and true American patriot.

I was so shock to read that Tim has passed. I worked for him at Gereral Dynamics and liked him the first time I met him. Wplayed golf together several times in Ogden Utah. I knew of him being with the Air Force Thunder Birds but never spoke about our Air Force career. When I read his obituary,I was speechless as I told my wife that Tim and I were in Da Nang Viet Nam at the same time and same Fighter Squadron and never met. I saw Tim several years ago at Squaw Creek goll Course, did not recognized him and he said hi Joe,I"m Tim Roels, I felt funny not knowing him but many years had passed since I too retired from G.D. May God Bless you,R.I.P.

Tim was a great guy and Thunderbird. As a young nervous crew chief, his was the first Thunderbird aircraft I took on the road. He was so kind to me and made me feel comfortable. Just a wonderful person that will be missed. Godspeed "Toots" as 4's in the final time...

We are so saddened at Tim's passing. Tim made me a better man and you couldn't ask for a better friend and boss. He was fun to travel with and made a room brighter with his smile. He made the world a better place to live in.
