Obituary of Betty Lou Dawson
Betty Lou Dawson age 83, of Ft. Worth, Texas passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. She died peacefully in her sleep at Stonegate Senior Care Center in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Betty was born June 8, 1935 in Boone, Iowa. The daughter of Maurice and Rose (Flynn) Banford. Betty graduated from Gilbert High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Lionell V. (Bud) Dawson Jr. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ames, Iowa on December 27, 1954. To this union, they were blessed with two sons.
Betty and Bud lived in a variety of places, to include Montgomery, Alabama, Denver, Colorado, Fairfield, California, Rome, New York, Shreveport, Louisiana, Omaha, Nebraska and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Survivors include their children David (LeighAnne) Dawson of Ft. Worth, Texas and Daniel (Cheryl) Dawson of DeLand, Florida; three grandchildren, Adam Dawson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Nicholas (Kaitlyn) Dawson of Bellevue, Nebraska and Caylin Dawson of Charlottesville, Virginia; four nieces and nephews, Matthew (Peggy) Clouser of San Angelo, Texas, Kimberly (Bob) Bell of Arlington, Texas, Debra (Jack) Henrietta of Aledo, Texas and Michael Clouser of Ames, Iowa. She also leaves eight great nieces, nephews and nine great great nieces and nephews.
Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, Maurice and Rose Banford , her sister, Patrica Clouser and her husband, Lionell V. (Bud) Dawson (Lt Col USAF Ret.).
Betty will be buried in a private service at Arlington National Cemetery, joining her husband.
