Herschel was born on Tuesday, June 21, 1927 in Georgetown, Texas to Willy and Lorenna Widmer. He enjoyed country music, belt buckles and golf.
Herschel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
Survivors: Wife, Margaret Widmer; daughters, Renda Washmon and husband Tim, Brenda Burton; grandchildren, Crystal Thompson, Kira Jelsma; great-grandchildren, Christian Crawford, Ireland Crawford, Taylor Crawford, Rendan Thompson; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Hall, Serenity Knott; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
