Obituary of Lee Bolden Downs

Lee B. Downs, beloved husband, father and brother, left Port on March 11. Lee spent his life in service to his country. After retiring from the US Navy, he aided his fellow Veterans as a VA Service Officer for over 40 years. Lee was a Life Member of many organizations such as the FRA, DAV, VFW, AMVETS and the American Legion to name a few. He was a 32o Mason and active in the Shrine. Lee was a member of the Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church and a dedicated Miami Dolphins Fan. Lee is survived by his wife, Fran; daughter, Tammi; son, Troy; sister, Cindy; brothers, Larry and Randy; and step-daughter’s, Candis, Cyndi, and Carrie. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at VFW Post 2399, Mineral Wells, TX, on March 17th at 1700. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to the Veteran’s Relief Fund at VFW Post 2399.
