Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Ray Evarts, beloved husband, father, and PopPop, went to meet his Lord and Savior on the eve of his 76th birthday, January 29th, 2021. He was born and raised in Fort Worth, the only child of William Thomas and Marilyn Johnson Evarts. Ray graduated in 1963 from Poly High School and in 1973 from UTA with a degree in architecture. He spent his career in pre-cast concrete and marble & granite. He married Sandra Ann Meredith September 25th, 1970 and just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Ray was an avid golfer and a long time member of Glen Garden Country Club, where he was often found leaving chips short or throwing clubs in the lake. Ray was a faithful member of both Poly Baptist and Southcliff Baptist churches. He was a loving father to Kayla Hughes and Amanda Wood (Stacey), cherished PopPop to Jackson, Hattie & Maisie, and is survived by sister in law Connie Grabeel and niece Meredith Page. Ray was a longtime cancer survivor and bravely battled multiple myeloma for more than 10 years. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Southcliff Baptist church.
