Obituary of Phillip Wayne Morrow
Please share a memory of Phillip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phillip "Phil" Wayne Morrow, 59, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2021.
Phillip was born October 3, 1962, in Pensacola, Florida. In addition to Florida, Phillip grew up in Maryland, Japan, and Texas, traveling due to his father’s naval career.
Phillip took two years of JROTC in high school. After graduation, he joined the Air Force, serving 11 years at three locations: Eielson AFB, Alaska (extended tour), South Korea (2 tours), and Minot AFB, North Dakota, before being honorably discharged. For the next 20 years, Phil worked for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Worth, Texas. Upon retirement from the Sheriff’s Department, he became a security guard at Security Watch, Fort Worth, Texas.
Phillip married Olga Gryzhunova in September 2000 and soon afterward they moved to their current home in Fort Worth, Texas. They have three children.
Phillip loved his family, spicy hot food (the spicier the better), comedian Jeff Dunham, Pinky and The Brain, Ren and Stimpy, Monty Python movies, Tyler Perry’s Madea movies, and reminiscing about things that happened in the past that he thought were funny. Phillip’s favorite skit was Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s On First.” He made Olga absolutely crazy quoting part of the routine anytime she asked a question that started with “who” or “what,” or if she answered a question with “I don’t know.”
When Phillip decided to take on a new endeavor, he did it whole heartedly, and would tell you about the latest venture whether you wanted to hear about it or not. That was Phil being Phil, if he was excited about it, he felt you should be excited about it too.
Phillip was predeceased by his father, Robert Morrow; his mother, Norma Webber Morrow; and his brother, Michael Morrow.
Phillip is survived by: his wife, Olga; children, Nicholas, Andrew, Anastasia; sisters, Debra McCarriar of Maryland, Kathleen McCrone of Maryland, and Linda Hudecek of California; as well as six nieces; four nephews; six great-nephews; and one great-niece, who will arrive in January.
Phillip made it known early in life that, when his time came, he wanted to be cremated. Olga honored his wish. The final arrangements were handled by Thompson and Son Cremation and Funeral Service, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, Texas.
A date for a memorial has not been set at this time.
