Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Elzie Boyett, of Crowley, Texas drew his last breath with his parents by his side on October 27, 2021, at the age of 49 from a prolonged battle with Brain Cancer. John was born in Houston, Texas on May 30, 1972, and was raised on Alvarado Lake in Alvarado, Texas by his parents Dale Boyett and Mary Shimkus. He developed a love for fishing at an early age and spent many hours on the lake. John comes from a large extended family and vacationed at both his grandparents houses in Hopedale, Massachusetts and Trinity, Texas. He graduated from Alvarado High School in 1991 where he was a straight A student, captain of the football team, a state alternate in track, the MVP of his golf team, and he still holds the record for the most stolen bases in a single season. After high school, he attended the University of Houston where he received a degree in ElectroOptical Engineering in 1996 and promptly gained employment at Livermore Labs in Silicon Valley, California. He grew his career in engineering and leadership by gaining a Master’s in Business Administration and then moved to Philadelphia, PA to work in bulletproof glass production. Finally, with his years of experience, he ended his career working in Competitive Intelligence for LoneStar Analysis in Addison, Texas. Upon his return to Colleyville, Texas, John married and soon became a father to three beautiful children, Joshua Boyett Negron, Ava Boyett, and Beau Boyett. He thrived as a father and provider. He loved to fish, golf, play poker, and chase after his kids. John is survived by his children Joshua, Ava, and Beau; his parents, Dale and Mary; brother, Robert and wife Shawna, and their children Jordan, Megan, and Maddie; brother, Marshall and wife Pam, and their children Maggie, Mallory and Morgan; as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends. Family and friends are invited to attend services on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Celebration Community Church, 908 Pennsylvania Avenue in Fort Worth; the visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following.
