Obituary of Bernard Lewis Jr
Bernard (Little Benny) Lewis, Jr. was the sixth child born to the union of Bernard Lewis, Sr. and Chanie Mae Lewis, in Eastland, TX. Benny accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. J. L. Norris, in Eastland, TX.
Little Benny attended Eastland Elementary School, LaPorte Junior High School, LaPorte, TX and Everman High School, in Everman, TX.
Little Benny joined the United States Army in 1980 and received an honorable discharge that same year due to medical reasons.
Little Benny then moved to Los Angeles, California and resided there until his untimely death on Nov 5, 2021.
Little Benny was a joyful person and he was one of the best chess players one could meet. He was gifted with great knowledge of the world's current events and mostly of the Holy Bible.
Little Benny received his heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 5, 2021. When he arrived in Heaven he was greeted by his fathers, Bernard Lewis, Sr., and Elmo Earls, his oldest brother, Edward Vernon Ivory, Jr., and his sister's twin brother, Rev. Alton J. Ivory.
Those left to cherish his memories: his Mother, Chanie Mae Earls, his sister, Anna Ivory-Edwards, his brothers, Danny J. Ivory and Allen J. Ivory, and Richard Earls, (2) nephews, (6) nieces, (9) great nieces & nephews, (2) sisters-in-love, and a host of cousins and friends who all loved him.
