Obituary of Domenico Di Lollo

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, Domenic Di Lollo, loving husband, father, and grandpa, passed away peacefully in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 89.

 

He is survived by his wife, Janice, children Tanya (Phil) and Anthony (Lara), grandchildren Jason, Bradley, James (Christine), and Lidia, and brother Vince. His family were the center of his universe.

 

Born in Vipacco, Italy, on January 13, 1933, Domenic and his family were displaced refugees at the end of WWII. In 1950, Domenic and his parents and siblings immigrated to Australia and settled in Perth, Western Australia, where he became known for his skill as a soccer goalkeeper. Domenic met his beloved wife, Janice, while working as one of the first baristas in Perth in 1958. They married in 1960 and Domenic devoted his life to caring for and supporting his family. Tall and athletic, Domenic cast an imposing figure, but what struck most people who met him was his kind and gentle nature. Always polite and softly spoken, he epitomized the word “gentleman” and he endeared himself to all who met him. Domenic and Janice loved to travel and had many adventures across the globe, including Domenic’s return to Italy in 1984 after 34 years away. He loved gardening and being in the outdoors, and was often joined by his grandchildren “helping” him mow the yard, work in the garden, or take long walks.

 

A devout Catholic, Domenic’s faith was reflected in the way in which he led his life, loving God and loving others. He is now in the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by his cherished mother, Vittorina, father, Antonio, sister, Lidia, and brother, Claude.

 

A funeral mass will be held at Church of the Magdalen in Wichita, Kansas on Monday, November 7^th at 9:45am. The service will be livestreamed at
