Michael "Mike" Kemlin Toner, 93, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, February 26, in the Elizabeth Cramer Chapel at, Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Rd., Fort Worth.
Interment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Arborlawn United Methodist Church, Salvation Army or charity of choice.
Mike was born on November 1, 1921 in Camden, MO to Michael and Myrtle Toner. Mike served in the United States Coast Guards 1942-1945. He married Yvonne Hunley in 1946 in Kansas City where they had two daughters before moving to Fort Worth in 1956. Mike began his 38 year career as a salesman in the dry ice business and liquid carbonics industry in 1946 with Spencer Chemical that later sold to SEC, Gulf Oil and Amerigas where he served as VP for the carbon dioxide, ammonia, chlorine and dry ice division until he retired in 1984.
Mike enjoyed playing golf at Ridglea Country Club from 1956-2006 and then played golf wherever there was a senior group and played until 2008. From then on Mike could be found working crossword puzzles and watching sports on TV.
He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne of 60 yrs., daughter Cinda Thomas, and his great granddaughter, Grace Klapprodt.
Survivors: Daughter, Kay Finley; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
