Please share a memory of Gayle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gayle M. Belshe died February 3, 2015 in Fort Worth Texas.
In lieu of flowers or meals the family suggests that friends who wish to help, or remember Gayle, make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org.
It was Gayle's wish not to be remembered by ceremony. The family plans to honor her memory at Hickory Hill cemetery in her home state of Missouri later this year.
Gayle Marquetta Gruner was born near St. James Missouri in 1935. She spent most of her early adult life in Jefferson City Missouri, and attended Jefferson City High School and Junior College. She was first employed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. In 1956 she met and married her college classmate and friend Ramon Belshe.
As a part of Ramon's work, Gayle and Ray had a great experience traveling over a large part of the United States in their early years together. During that time their son Michael was born, and Gayle found herself meeting the challenge of finding a new doctor for Michael in different cities and towns every few weeks. But it was all worth it when she could spend a day at the beach with him when they were in seaside locations.
The next phase of her life was more conventional as they lived in Prairie Village Kansas, Moraga California and Seattle Washington. They later settled in Fort Worth where they have enjoyed life for the past 43 years. There Gayle found her career in real estate sales, eventually retiring as office manager for Century 21 Lake Country.
Gayle greatly enjoyed art and theater, amateur photography, yoga and even golf for a time. She also loved travel, including visiting her son where he lived at various times in Japan, Mexico, Venezuela, Taiwan and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Elsie Gruner of St. James Missouri. Gayle is survived by husband Ramon, son Michael and his wife Rena of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, brother Richard and his wife Rita of Bay Point California, and brother-in-law Gary Belshe of Jefferson City Missouri.
