Obituary of Shirley Ann Barnes

Shirley Ann Barnes, 71, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at her daughter's residence in Fort Worth after struggling with cancer. Shirley was born in Cleburne, Texas to Elmer Blankenship and Mary Lou Woolsey Blankenship. She attended Diamond Hill-Jarvis in Fort Worth. Shirley was incredibly creative and a talented seamstress and upholsterer. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, flea markets, garage sales, journaling, and listening to music. Shirley had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Shaun Dale Barnes, on October 22, 2014; and her siblings, Estelle Blankenship and Odell Blankenship. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jana Lee Finch and Kellie Sue Daniels; grandchildren, Jason Rosenquist, Chad Gentry, Taylor Gentry, Rachael Mills, Garrison Daniels, Max Barnes, Carson Daniels, and Kayleigh Barnes; two great-granddaughters, Emma and Winter; brothers, Jack Blankenship and Jerry Don Blankenship; sisters, Faye Walker, Irene Norris, and Gloria Blankenship; aunt Velma Blankenship Wise; and special friends, Nelda Roik, Buddy Finch, and Neita Finch. The family wishes to thank the wonderful people from VITAS Hospice for the compassionate care they showed to Shirley and the family during these past few days. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.
