Obituary of Donald Patrick Nix

Donald Patrick Nix went to his Heavenly home on December 21, 2022. He was born July 14, 1939, to John A. Nix and Naomi Smith Nix. He married Mae Wyatt in 1962 and they were married over 60 years. Don graduated from Paschal High School and Texas Wesleyan College and retired from Lockheed Martin.

He was a member of Travis Avenue Church where he was a deacon and served on various committees. He was a volunteer firefighter in Edgecliff Village for 16 years and was a member of Edgecliff Village Fellowship and Edgecliff Citizens on Patrol. He was a volunteer at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum and also volunteered as an Ambassador at DFW Airport. Don and Mae loved to travel and took many wonderful trips to their favorite places in Europe.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mae; sons, Alan Nix, Bill Nix (Michelle) and Chris Nix (Susan); sister, Darlene Harrison; nephew, Keith Harrison (Janet); niece, Dee Ann Hunt (James); cousins, Mike Smith (Cheryl) and Rick Smith; and good friend, Heidi Black.

Visitation: 1-5 p.m. Monday, December 26, at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76133.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. January 10, 2023, Travis Avenue Baptist Church, 800 W Berry St, Fort Worth, TX 76110.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mercy Clinic of Fort Worth, PO Box 11557, Fort Worth, TX 76110 or K9s for Warriors , PO Box 1864, Merrifield, VA 22116­1864.
