Obituary of Visitacion Reyes Villanueva
Visitacion “Bessie” Reyes Villanueva was granted her angel wings on February 1st, 2023. Her final days were spent surrounded by family that Bessie had touched in many huge ways throughout her memorable life.
Bessie was born on July 2nd, 1937, at Manila, Philippines. Most of her childhood was spent in Pila, Laguna and spent a lot of time moving as a military dependent. She had a knack of doing anything, from dancing in different school programs to playing the piano. At a very early age, she was even able to skip a grade due to her exceeding level of knowledge from other students. She graduated from the University of the East, majoring in Business Management. She met her husband, Pete, during her college years and married on May 1st, 1958. She migrated to the United States in 1963. After 13 years living in San Diego and Hawaii, she returned to the Philippines in 1975 to continue to raise her family. She valued the culture and religious upbringing to be passed down to her children. She enjoyed watching old movies, listening to classical music, playing the piano, praying the rosary, and doing cross stitch. She also liked to watch cable Filipino channels.
In 1993, she returned to the United States in Fort Worth, Texas where she had stayed since caring for her loving spouse, and enjoyed many years being with her children and grandchildren.
