Obituary of Richard Edward Dotson

Richard Edward Dotson passed away on February 12, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 59.

Richard was born in Fort Worth on January 9, 1964 to Robert F. Dotson and Jo E. Dotson.  He grew up there and attended Arlington Heights High School, later graduating with a B.A. in Journalism from Southwest Texas State University.

Writing and literature were among Richard’s many passions.  After graduation he became a reporter with the Fort Worth Star Telegram.  Afterwards, he had a long career in corporate communications with Texas Instruments until his retirement in 2021.

Richard was deeply involved in community organizations, was an avid runner, and loved his dogs.  He was surrounded in life by a loving family and a group of wonderful friends. He will be dearly missed by us all.    

Richard is preceded in death by his father Robert F. Dotson. 

He is survived by his mother Jo Dotson, brother Blake Dotson, sister-in-law Darra Dotson, nephew Colin Dotson and step mother Diann Dotson.
