I met Leon through his son Kevin and his brothers and sisters. Leon was a kind man with a great sense of humor. My favorite Leon story is golf related. Playing as part of a foursome with Leon, he hooked his fairway shot way left. It went into a neighborhood and hit a roof. The rest of us hit and when we all got to the green, Leon's "shingle shot" was sitting on the green with a huge cut in the ball. Somehow, his ball had ricocheted off the roof and landed on the green. I laughed because rather than being amazed that the shot had wound up on the green, Leon was playfully complaining about the cut in his new golf ball. Leon's "shingle shot" lives on in our golf lore to this day and always will. Just like everyone's fond memories of Leon will go on forever. Rest in peace sir.
