Sandra (Burm) Cornish, age 90 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away June 17, 2023, peacefully in her home of almost 60 years surrounded by loved ones.
Sandra was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 7, 1933, to the late Gertrude “Trudy” Burm and the late Alphonse Burm. She was welcomed and treasured by her sister Marilyn P., and then later by her younger brother Charles Burm.
In September of 1951, she married Daniel Ivor Cornish, her childhood sweetheart, the love of her life.
They shared a life full of adventures, love and a marriage of almost sixty-eight years.
Together, they raised 4 beautiful children: Linda, David, Kathleen and Barbara.
In 1963 the family began a new chapter in Fort Worth, Texas. Even though miles separated them from their Chicago family, they remained close in their hearts.
Sandra was an amazing daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She enjoyed cooking, being a homemaker, working in the yard, boating, swimming, fishing and being quiet with a good book.
Sandra is preceded in death by her Husband Dan, Daughter Linda, Grandson Michael, Brother-in-law Lou, and son-in-law John.
Sandra is survived by her siblings Marilyn P. Schatz, and brother Charles “Chuck” Burm.
Her children, David I Cornish (Cindy), Kathleen Cornish, and Barbara Cornish Hillis.
She was affectionately known as “Granny” by her nine amazing Grandchildren. The late Michael David Ford, Christopher Ford (Shannon), Stefani Roberts (Brad), David I Cornish, II (Stephany), Michelle Barton (Brian), Nicholas I Cornish (Lana), Danielle Oxford, John Daniel Cornish, and James “Kyle” Moore. She was also blessed with 16 Great Grandchildren.
