Obituary of Jo Agnes Poteet
Jo Woodard Poteet passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, in San Angelo, TX, with her family by her side at the age of 78.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Crowley Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Chase Robinson, Carter Arney, Jonathan Smythe, Michael Jones, Jeremiah Howell and Ryan Howell. Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Robinson, Hunter Robinson, Richard Jones.
Jo was born November 21, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Roswell High School, Roswell, New Mexico in 1962, then attended TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a legal assistant at Rattikin & Rattikin until her retirement. She made her home in Burleson, Texas until she later moved to Sanger, Texas with her daughter.
Jo was passionate about her family and enjoyed playing video games, reading, watching movies, traveling, shopping and every genre of music. She was so giving and loving to her family, later in life she discovered QVC and loved shopping and ordering things to give to her beloved children, grandchildren and friends. She made everyone around her feel special and so loved. Everyone that knew her loved her. She had the kindest, sweetest and most giving soul.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glynn Golden and Betty Golden; and her husband Gary Poteet.
Jo Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jimmy Smythe and his wife, Beverly of Granbury, TX, Brandon Smythe and his wife Heather of San Angelo, TX and Sabra Smythe Howell and her husband Jason of Sanger, TX; sister Joyce Jones and her husband Richard of Alexandria, MN; grandchildren, Andrea Lappin and husband Jake, Jonathan Smythe and wife Heidi, Teyla Smythe, Allison Mims and her husband Kyle, Carter Arney and his wife Macie, Emily Smythe, Michael Robinson and his wife Addison, Chase Robinson and his wife Heather and Hunter Robinson; 10 great grandchildren with two more on the way.
