Obituary of Christopher Paul Sheffield

Chris was born to Dana Jean and Jackie Ray Sheffield in Fort Worth, Texas and passed peacefully in his sleep with Cindy Larey and her mother in Mineral Wells, Texas. He was a graduate of Keller High School. Chris spent all of his life here in the north Texas area.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76133.

Chris chose to be cremated and his ashes will be interred with his mother and Jon at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Tree of North Texas. This is a nonprofit that serves children in the Birdville, Keller and Fort Worth ISDs. They help with food, mentoring, etc.

Chris possessed a very creative imagination from a very young age and carried this into his love of all things gaming in his adult life. He enjoyed writing and telling stories. He spent some time developing pod casts and also was working on a collaboration to complete a sort of comic book (not the funny kind). Chris loved ComiCon and was involved each year until his health prevented him from doing so. He was also involved with Cindy and her family doing computer repair. Perhaps one of the things he was most proud of was that he and his gaming cohorts provided some x-boxes/controllers to the VA Hospital in Dallas.

He loved music and loved playing the guitar while his brother, Jon, played harmonica. They were very good at dressing up and imitating the Blues Brothers, as was evident when they performed Happy Birthday for a friend.

Chris is survived by: Long time partner, Cindy Larey; Father Jack Sheffield, Stepmother Debbie Sheffield; Sons Dylan Sheffield (Kendall) and Justin (Haley) and granddaughter, Hadley Ann Sheffield, Kristi Sheffield, mother of his children as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Dana Sheffield and brother, Jon Sheffield.
