Obituary of Roy Allen Mosbey
Roy Allen Mosbey, a devoted family man and outdoors enthusiast, peacefully passed away at the age of 73 in his Burleson, Texas home on November 24, 2023. Born in Fisk, Missouri to Clifford Mosbey and Viola Evelyn Weathers on May 31, 1950, Roy's legacy is one of love, wisdom, and a passion for life.
Roy found joy in the great outdoors, where his love for hunting and fishing flourished. His greatest treasures were moments spent with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations.
A man of words and wisdom, Roy shared his insights through his "Life According to Mosbey" blog and book, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to read his thoughts.
For 26 years, Roy was the proud owner of Ram Country Taxidermy, where his dedication to his craft and love for wildlife left an indelible mark. His expertise and artistry transformed countless hunting memories into timeless displays of nature's beauty.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Theresa Mosbey, and leaves behind a legacy through his children: Brandi Parker (James), Angela Neal (Micheal), Shane Mosbey (Brandi), and Randy Von Heuring (Gina). His grandchildren - Hunter Borja, Brittany Neal, Hailey Borja, Hayden Borja, Kristina Neal, Elizabeth Neal, Myles Mosbey, Kolby Mosbey, Shawn Von Heuring, Amber Von Heuring, and Tristin Von Heuring - were the lights of his life.
He is also remembered fondly by his sisters: Nelda Dalluge, Judi Rodgers (Doug), Linda McClure, Starr Moore (Jim), and Marty Ward (Tim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Viola Mosbey, brothers John Mosbey, Pete Mosbey, and Ed Mosbey, sister Helen Mosbey, and granddaughter Domanique Von Heuring. He is also reunited with his brother-in-laws Jerry Dalluge and Jerril McClure, and sister-in-laws Sue Mosbey and Nancy Mosbey.
Roy's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but his spirit will forever live on in the laughter, stories, and shared experiences of the family and friends he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the vast beauty of the outdoors he so dearly cherished.
