Obituary of Patricia Proza Carr
Patricia Proza Carr, 81, of Dallas, Texas, passed away in Crowley, Texas, with her family on May 24th, 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill. She was a beloved mother to three children.
Pat (as she preferred to be called) was born in Dallas in 1942 to William Proza and Mary (Pouzar) Story. She grew up in Dallas, Texas. Pat attended W.W. Samuell High School before attending college at Southern Methodist University, where she majored in Biology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
One of Pat’s favorite words was “eclectic”, and her life certainly reflected the vividness of the word. After working as an administrative assistant, she moved into a market research career for more than 25 years, after which she went on to create, build, and operate two separate businesses. She also was a very active member of the Lower Greenville Neighborhood Association (including serving as the President for several years), was very active in the Dallas City political world, served as a cast member in the annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival for ten years, was a participating member of the Dallas Storyteller's Guild, a lover of TV's Jeopardy show, and very much enjoyed holding at least two garage sales each year.
Patricia was preceded in death by both her mother and father, as well as her husband, Michael. She is survived by her sons (Timothy and Liam Carr) as well as her daughter (Maureen Carr), grandchildren (Chaya Moore, Evan Carr, Ursula Carr Rodriguez, and Tyler Carr), great grandchildren (Alyssa, Ashlyn, and Avery and two who will be born this year). All will never forget just how much joy, wisdom, and laughter she brought to their lives.
