Roy J "Grandfather" Stacy, 85, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2014. After spending two months in local hospitals trying to overcome complications of Diabetes.
The Stacy family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 pm Friday June 13 at the Southlake Christian Church, 1280 N Carroll Ave, Southlake.
Memorial Service: 1 pm Saturday June 14, at White's Chapel United Methodist Church185 S White Chapel Rd, Southlake, where a reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Roy was born on March 26, 1929 in Dallas to Roy and Cleo Stacy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Roy was always supportive of his children and grandchildren in their church and school activities. After the love for his Lord and Savior, his family was the most important thing in his life. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill
Advent Christian Church which today is the Southlake Christian Church.
Roy retired from General Motors Assembly Division in Arlington, Texas after 30 years, rising through the ranks to his final title as the General Superintendent. He refused multiple promotions to prevent leaving the area and moving his family.
He was an avid High School Sports fan beginning with the Grapevine High School Mustangs and finishing as a Carroll Dragon Super Fan. Roy was also an avid Texas Ranger Baseball fan. Roy loved music and was a season ticket holder to the Johnnie High Show in Arlington.
Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: Wife of 68 years, Merrill Stacy; sons, Rick Stacy and his wife Diane, Randy Stacy and his wife Cathy, and Ron Stacy and his wife Barbara; daughter, Rhonda Stacy Highberger and her husband Larry; grandchildren, Dorian Sims and her husband Bill, Elizabeth Smith and her husband Scott, Ashley Rodriguez and her husband Robert, Jay Stacy and his wife Erin, Kristopher Stacy and his wife Valerie, Brian Stacy and his wife Lani, Mitch Stacy and his wife Christy, Travis Stacy, Aaron Stacy, Heather Wright, Heath Marr, and Nic Marr. 20 Great Grand children with one more on the way. Roy is also survived by two sisters, Aloha Renwick and Florene Adams as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends that he considered Family.
