Obituary of Bessie Mae Clark

Bessie Mae Clark, 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Service: 11 am Monday, Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr., Ft. Worth. Visitation: 4 pm - 6 pm, Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home. Interment: 4 pm Monday, Bellwood Memorial Park, Temple. Bessie was born on July 22, 1918 in Salado, Texas to Huelett and Maude Hewitt. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, her family and home where always was first in her life. Bessie loved her church, cooking, baking, reading, music and gardening, especially her roses. Bessie married William Clyde Owens on November 19, 1937 in Moffat, Texas. She lived in and around Temple and Belton until 1973. After he passed away she meet and married T. J. Wright in Coleman, Texas in 1973. After his death she married Ernest Clark and remained in Coleman till 2002. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Clark and her grandson, Michael Jones, her brothers, M. D. Hewitt and David Hewitt, and her sisters, Golda Boney and Sarah Ann Gottlieb. Survivors: Daughters, Patsy Floyd and husband Charles, and Sharon McCain and husband Mark; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, twenty four great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild; sister, Barbara Spoffard; and a host of extended family.
