Mina was born in Seoul, South Korea, on February 20, 1947, to Hae Kil Yu and Chae Ryong Kwak. She was a woman of remarkable strength, faith, and love. Mina moved to the United States in the mid-1970s, initially living in Perry, Iowa, before making Texas her home in 1984. She was deeply committed to ensuring others were cared for, a reflection of her generous and selfless spirit. Her love extended to her pets, especially her beloved German Shepherd and other dogs that brought her happiness throughout her life.
Mina also had an inspiring ability to adapt and thrive. She taught herself English by watching TV and formed meaningful friendships along the way. Her journey and resilience left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her, and her legacy of strength, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mina is survived by her three sons: Troy Chiafos and spouse Billie Jo, John Chiafos, and James Chiafos; four granddaughters: Alyssa Rivera, Abbie Marich, Jasmine Chiafos, and Destiny Mendoskin; and two great-grandchildren: Emma Rivera and Hayden Kribbs.
