I would like to express my heartfelt condolences for your familly's loss. It's never easy losing a loved one. However, God does promise us a time when death will be eliminated, Isaiah 25:8 tells us "he will actually swallow up death forever." Romans 3:23 tells us that we die because we are imperfect and all sin, so God will remove sin soon through Jesus Christ. We look forward to this time as I'm sure you do as well. May your family find comfort in God's word and promises.
