Danny and I worked at the Dairy Treat together and played ball together while I was able. There was never a nicer guy and always had a smile for everyone. He proudly dedicated his life to the Navy and the defense of our great nation. It was one of my greatest privileges to have known him. Rest in peace sailor. We'll miss you forever.

Last time I saw Danny was at CottonPatch in stephenville. When I started toward table where he was he stood up and yelled it's my football sweetheart and yelled it out several times. He was so much fun in high school. After graduating we went our separate ways but I know he had a great Naval career. He will be missed.

I wish to send my sympathy to Danny's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I wish I could attend the memorial service but I live in Arizona. I was one of Danny's classmates in Dublin, TX. I enjoyed cheering him on as a Dublin Lion football player. Danny was a wonderful friend. He was so sweet, kind and would do anything for his friends & family. Danny was always a big flirt in high school which of course, I enjoyed! I know Danny was a Christian so he is now in God's hands. Danny is no longer in pain and is at peace! Danny, I will miss your smiling face!

Danny and I grew up together in Dublin and we graduated high school together in 1970. Danny chose the Navy and I chose the Air Force after completing college. We remained in touch throughout our careers and retirement. Danny and I were on the football team together and he was a consistent team player--you could count on him to have your back and he always followed through on what he said--he was a man of his word. Danny had a strong work ethic and supported himself by working for various farmers around the area during his high school days. Danny had a highly successful Naval career due to his mission focus and ensuring he never let his shipmates down--he could always be counted on to get the job done. In summary, Danny was a patriot and a great American. He left the world better than he found it and he will be sorely missed.

My Uncle Danny... where do I even begin.. as a little girl I loved to hear your stories about being on your ships and I loved the sound of your voice. Your love for roosters was also something I loved to hear you talk about and you taught me and Shelby the difference in them all. I have so many childhood memories that have you in them and I will forever cherish them. We love you Uncle Danny!! We will miss you!!

As a nephew of Danny I would first like to say thank you for your military service. I was always very proud of that. Secondly I remember when I was little he raised roosters & loved to talk about them. He taught me how to tell the differences in each of the different kinds of roosters. I always thought it was interesting & something I will always remember.

I've known Dan since he was in the sixth grade. I'll never forget the contagious smile of the cute little blonde kid at school! We spent many hours talking about family and life in general as we grew up. It's hard to wrap my mind around the fact that you are no longer here. Rest in peace my friend!

My condolences to Danny's family and to Sandy. I had the priveledge to know him from middle school and he visited Emily and I over Christmas, New years this past year in NC. We spoke to one another 2-3 times a week for the lasr 4years. We often said that our lives mirrored one another from a young child through retirement! Danny was my best friend. I tagged him "Dannyo" and he called me "Grego". We never ended a phone call without saying, "Love you Dannyo!" or he, "Love you Grego!". God didn't make another "Dannyo"!
I will miss my shipmate terribly.
Sincerly, Greg, Emily and Maria Aardal

I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He was such a good friend of Leon (deceased) and mine. I was so glad that he got to visit with us last year one more time before Leon passed away.He was like family to us and we treasured his friendship so much over the years. We spoke on the phone a few weeks ago and I could tell he was getting weaker.
The miles separated us but we did keep in contact by phone and that I will miss. RIP Dan.
