Obituary of Timothy Edward Gallagher

Timothy Edward Gallagher, 73, passed away on June 6, 2016 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was born on June 24, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Broadway Baptist Fleming Chapel, 305 W. Broadway, Ft. Worth, TX. Timothy began working at an early age and showed an immediate talent for marketing and sales. He worked in various industries but eventually landed in the jewelry business. This industry was his passion, and he came to own several jewelry stores throughout Texas. He eventually retired from a 40+ year career in the jewelry business. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly, and he took great pride in watching their lives unfold. He was an avid golfer. When not on the course, he enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He loved to read The New York Times, and he also read the Bible daily. A devoted Christian, he volunteered for various ministries and causes throughout the Ft. Worth area, including Broadway Baptist. Timothy lived his life for others. He never met a person that he could not befriend, and he selflessly gave his time, support, talents, and resources to those in need. He will be best remembered for his charm, wit and his ability to see the positive in all situations. He loved life, and he taught all of us to tackle each day with a sense of humor and a heart full of love. Timothy was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Douglas; a brother, Patrick Gallagher; and a sister, Carol Gallagher. He is survived by daughter, Kathleen Edstrom of Plano, TX, her husband Erik Edstrom, and their two children, Alexa and Kent; son, Abraham Gallagher of Seabrook, TX and his wife Julia Gallagher; son Timothy James Gallagher of Santa Fe, TX, his wife Shana Gallagher, and their two sons, Henry and Timothy Michael. Also survived by his brother, Michael Gallagher of Sierra Vista, AZ and his wife Ruth Gallagher; brother, Terry Gallagher of Piedmont, AL; brother Greg Gallagher of Shelby, NC and his wife Elizabeth Gallagher; and many nieces and nephews.
