Mark Wesley Stanfield, Jr., 72, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church, Grapevine. Interment: Grapevine Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Mark was born on Aug. 27, 1943, in Ennis to Mark and Martha Stanfield. He grew up in Grapevine graduating from Grapevine High School in 1961; he attended North Texas State University.
Mark was active in many organizations in Grapevine, including being a past president and recipient of every award from Grapevine Ambucs. His company that he founded Southern Refractories was a recipient of the Business of the Year award from the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. He was also awarded the D E Box Citizen of the Year in Grapevine. Mark was also a founding member and chairman of the board of the Joey Wilkins Foundation; he also founded the Grapevine Offshore Fishing Society. He was very involved in every festival held in Grapevine. He loved to fish and play golf. Mark was a member of the Grapevine Elks Lodge. He also loved to spend time at his ranch Coyote Moon.
Everyone who knew Mark loved him and will miss him greatly.
Survivors: Wife, Melva Stanfield; daughters, Jana Dee Edwards and Lana Suzanne Jeter and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Anthony Edwards, Craig Edwards and Derek Cameron; great-grandchildren, Ethan Edwards and Madeline Edwards; mother, Martha Stanfield; brothers, Billy Stanfield and George Stanfield; niece and nephews, Brian Gentry, Chris Gentry, Karen Mayfield and Scott Stanfield.
