Donald Dean "Donnie" Plummer, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas. Don was born November 28, 1938, in Seymour, to the late Clifford and Iowa Plummer. He was a 1957 graduate of Seymour High School and attended Texas Christian University on a football scholarship. He graduated from TCU in 1963 with a degree in Physical Education. His career included coaching in Fort Worth ISD, nursing home administration throughout Texas and management of a durable medical equipment dealership (MediQuip) in Lubbock, Tx.
Don married Pamela Farmer in Fort Worth in 1962. Don was an active member in Lubbock Industrial Lions Club, board member of Muscular Dystrophy, a member of All Saints Episcopal School Board, and served on the boards (vestries) of several Episcopal churches.
Don is survived by his wife, Pam of Fort Worth; daughters, Renee Plummer Haney and husband, Jim of Lubbock, Melinda Plummer Opitz and husband, Derek of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jimmy and Lisa Haney of Lubbock and Gabe Opitz of Fort Worth; brother, Bobby Plummer of Houston and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother C. B. Plummer, Jr.
Service will be Saturday, October 22, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at St. John's Anglican Church, 2401 College Ave., Fort Worth, Texas.
