Obituary of Dr. Patricia Jane Betty Atwood
Please share a memory of Dr. Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Patricia Jane Beaty Atwood transitioned from this life to her next great adventure on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Born on September 4, 1944 to Mary Ophelia Nichols and John David Beaty, Jr, she spent her youth in Comanche, Texas with her sister, Linda Sharon Beaty, her brother Kenny Scott Beaty and a host of cousins and friends with whom she engaged in the high art of mischief making.
Despite raising three poorly behaved and exuberant children, Tami Lyn Rush, Jesse Edward Grimmer and Kati Lee Grimmer, she embarked upon a career in education eventually earning a doctoral degree from Texas Woman's University. She worked with children and young adults in a variety of settings and gained a lot of enjoyment and energy from her students.
Pat had many interests and loves and was a free spirit that could be counted on for spontaneity, lively conversation and fun. She felt fortunate to have had so many good friends over the years that helped her to optimize her potential in this regard.
She leaves behind her husband Bill Atwood, Her children, two lovely step-daughters, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her siblings and many friends, but her spirit lives on through us all.
The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice and the Monks of Wat Busayadhammvanara temple for their tender care and support.
A gathering celebrating the life of Patricia Beaty Atwood will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from Noon until 2:00 pm at 4 North Event Center on the Square in Comanche Texas.
