Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Susan Marie Thelena Johnson Willson, loving mother, Mamaw, and friend was born on November 2, 1933 in Houston to William James Johnson and Thelma Hazel Embry. She passed away peacefully in Fort Worth surrounded by her family. She lived and worked in Lake Jackson for 40 years before moving to Fort Worth in 2006 to retreat from hurricanes and to be near her oldest son and his family. As a young homemaker she was involved in her sons’ lives as room mother, PTA volunteer, and school board affairs including being instrumental in getting the first crossing guards and cross walks for Lake Jackson school children. She later worked for Dr. Frank Grady for nearly 30 years, caring for patients, assisting in surgery and helping care for the Grady children. Susan joined Brazos Pointe Fellowship shortly after its launch in 2001 and was an active member until she moved from the area in 2006. A Memorial Service, officiated by Greg Pickering will be held at Brazos Pointe Fellowship on Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 A.M. Survivors include her sons and their families: Gary, Andrea, Luke, and Logan (Fort Worth); Paul, Kristian, Zachary, Lauren, and Sarah (Austin); Kirk, Dedee, Kyle (Rachel) (Lake Jackson), and Jamie (Jed Hutto) (New Braunfels). Numerous nieces and nephews and other cherished family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to Brazos Pointe Fellowship, 679 Highway 332 W, Lake Jackson, TX 77566.
