I only knew Charles a few years before I retired at the end of May 2024 from the NWS in Fort Worth. He attended my retirement party, and I saw him a colleague's Christmas party just last month. I remember him saying after I asked him his preferred reference name and he said "Charles. Not Chuck, not Charlie, just Charles". I honored that and he was always kind to me and would help in me with any problems, or if I had to call him on a weekend about an emergency equipment outage. Never did he make me feel bad for it.
I'm still hurting from his loss having just seen him. Gone too soon but never forgotten. May you and your family find peace in the realm of our Lord and may you rest peacefully. Miss you bud.

Chief, You were truly a great mentor, leader and warrior. During our time together as part of the 301 MXG leadership team, you provided us the voice of reason, logic and experience. I am forever grateful for your eternal friendship and hope you are able to rest in peace.
Your friend, Mike
